Testing task: Open a filled in, collapsed combobox

Describe how VoiceOver for macOS behaves when performing task "With focus on the combobox, open the combobox without moving into the listbox popup."

Test instructions

1. Restore default settings for VoiceOver for macOS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the combobox, and sets the combobox value to 'Alabama'.
3. Toggle Quick Nav OFF by pressing the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys at the same time.
4. With focus on the combobox, open the combobox without moving into the listbox popup.
5. Using the following commands, With focus on the combobox, open the combobox without moving into the listbox popup.
   • Option+Down
   • Option+Up

Success Criteria

To pass this test, VoiceOver for macOS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

1. Change in state (to expanded) is conveyed
