Testing task: Navigate to the previous row in a grid in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the previous row in the grid."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the first cell of the third row in the grid.
  3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn on the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Navigate to the previous row in the grid.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the previous row in the grid.
    • Control+Alt+Up

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Text of the cell ('01-Jan-16') is conveyed
  2. coordinates of the cell (column 1, row 2) are conveyed
