Testing task: Navigate backwards to a tab panel in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the tab panel."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the tab panel.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Navigate to the tab panel.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the tab panel.
    • Shift+Tab

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'tab panel' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Nils Frahm' is conveyed
  3. Textual content of the tab panel is conveyed as 'Nils Frahm is a German musician, composer and record producer based in Berlin.
